The AncientPlanet Journal is published every eight weeks and features articles on a wide gamut of subjects relating to history, archaeology and science written by both regular and guest authors. Contributing authors are encouraged to write on topics relating to their particular field of research and expertise and thus provides an excellent opportunity for academics and students to present their work to the wider public.
In addition to feature articles, the journal also publishes short articles, many of which fall within fairly regular departments (eg. interviews, book and website reviews, and so on). Though these are usually written by our regular contributors, we do accept departmental pieces from guest contributors, as well as Letters to the Editor.

Prospective authors and contributors can download our Article Submission Guidelines (pdf) by clicking on this link.

Before articles can be published, authors must sign a contract that grants the first-time publication rights to the AncientPlanet Journal and assigns the exclusive electronic publication rights of the article in the form it is published in the journal. Please note that this does not preclude authors from publishing their articles elsewhere subsequent to publication in the AncientPlanet Journal

Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere including electronically in the same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the copyright-holder (i.e., AncientPlanet Journal).

Upon acceptance of an article, authors will thus be asked to complete the Publication Contract which can be downloaded here as a word doc.
